Dave Davies

Dave Davies has worked in search since 2000, a span of more than 25 years covering affiliate marketing, company ownership and enterprise practice. He spent 17 years co founding and running Beanstalk Internet Marketing with Mary Davies. He is now Principal SEO Manager at CoreWeave, leading search strategy across the company and its acquired brands including Weights & Biases.

The context matters. Applying search expertise inside an AI and cloud business means working where the technical complexity is high and the discovery systems are changing underneath the work, which is a harder environment than most SEO is practised in.

Davies has deep hands on experience in technical SEO and content strategy, and his current work extends into Generative Engine Optimisation. He studies how generative systems interpret information, which signals govern LLM visibility, and how established practice should adapt as behaviour shifts. He also examines the relationship between agentic AI and search, including agent observability and what autonomous systems mean for how information is found.

Alongside the day job he has spent more than two decades writing and speaking about the industry. He contributes regularly to Search Engine Land and Search Engine Journal, has spoken at SMX Advanced and Pubcon, and co-hosts the Webcology podcast. His career runs from traditional search through to AI driven discovery, held together by one question: how machines find information and decide what to surface.
